Members

The ATRF Board consists of six members nominated by each of the two plan sponsors – the Government of Alberta and the plan members, who are represented by The Alberta Teachers’ Association. Appointments are made by the Lieutenant Governor in Council.

Michael joined the ATRF Board in 1999. He taught career and technology studies at Memorial Composite High School in Stony Plain until January 31, 2008. Prior to 2004 he was Career and Technology Studies Department Head. Michael assumed the role of Chair of the Board in 2003 and is Chair of the Audit Committee.

Michael E. Griffiths

 

James is a Business Consultant and former Associate Vice President (Operations & Physical Resources) with the University of Alberta and has been on the ATRF Board since 1994. He is currently Vice Chair of the Board and Audit Committee and Chair of the Investment Committee.

James Fleming

 

Lesley joined the ATRF Board in 2000. She is Vice President, External Relations, Alberta Pensions Administration Corporation. She has over 25 years experience in the pension industry. Lesley is currently Chair of the Human Resources and Compensation Committee, Chair of the Finance and Planning Committee and a member of the Audit Committee.

Lesley K. Bowering

 

Greg joined the ATRF Board in 2007. He is the Science Department Head at Victoria School of Performing and Visual Arts in Edmonton. Previously, Greg taught at Centre High School in Edmonton. Greg is a member of the ATA Pension Committee and a member of the Science Council. Greg is currently the Vice Chair of the Finance and Planning Committee.

Gregory Meeker

 

Sharon is Coordinator, Teacher Welfare with The Alberta Teachers’ Association. Sharon taught for 13 years with the County of Lamont and Elk Island Public School Division. She joined the ATRF Board in 2000. She is Vice Chair of the Investment Committee and Vice Chair of the Human Resources and Compensation Committee.
