We are seeking a Senior Analyst, Investment Finance – Private Markets to join our growing Investment Finance team. ATRF, located in Edmonton Alberta, is one of Canada’s most dynamic and fastest-growing pension funds, where assets under management are projected to more than double over the next decade.
The position is responsible to the Senior Manager, Investment Finance and is a key member of the team accountable for the effective provision of investment operations functions to enable the management of ATRF’s pension investment assets, focusing on private market assets.
The Private Markets Group within Investment Finance enables the effective operations of private markets - the Real Estate, Private Equity and Private Infrastructure investment portfolios. The group’s primary responsibilities include operations functions to coordinate cash and liquidity requirements, transaction processing and settlement, investment onboarding and asset valuation, administration and reporting, elements of risk management and reporting together with service and relationship management.
Areas of responsibility within this function include onboarding new transactions, setup of new investments within various internal systems, accurate administration, execution and reporting of cash flows, production of (or contribution to) portfolio level reporting, and involvement in complex accounting transactions. The role will partner with departments throughout the organization that impact or contribute to the various levels of internal and external reporting. The role will collaborate with the Investment team, Investment Accounting, Corporate Finance, Legal and other teams to ensure that private market investments are appropriately accounted for, reported and disclosed in performance and risk reporting and, ultimately, in the financial statements.

The successful candidate for this role will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting, as well as 3-5 years of applicable work experience within investment finance operations with a minimum of 3 years with private market investments.
Current registration with a professional body (CFA, CAIA, CPA, CBV) is required and substantial progress towards completion is preferred.
Knowledge and/or experience with OTC currency hedge instruments are preferred. More detailed job descriptions can be found here.
