The long-term financing and investment objectives for ATRF's investment management operation are set out in our investment policies and guidelines. The fund's primary objective is to earn a rate of return of 4.25% after inflation on the total investments. This long-term investment objective is based on the real rate of return assumed in the actuarial valuations of the plans and is measured over periods starting September 1, 1992, when the plan sponsors agreed to the current funding structure of the plans.
