‚ÄčTeaching... a lifetime of service! If I was to retire tomorrow, I would volunteer my time to assist less fortunate children in nations of need.
Pote creche kids-350.jpgA few years ago, I was fortunate to be able to take a year off teaching and volunteer with an NGO, Edzimkulu, in South Africa where I was both a Kindergarten and High School teacher/advisor for students and staff in a rural township school in KwaZul Natal.

My kindergarten class had over 90 children (when they all showed up)!!!!! My high school groups were preparing to write national examinations in English when they barely spoke the language!!

This time in Africa was one of the most challenging, yet rewarding experiences of my life to date... and that's how I'd like to continue to spend my time - giving back to young people; our future leaders and stewards!

With my teaching pension, I would be able to live comfortably and give of my time and expertise to deserving children in need... of course, it would definitely be in a climate/country MUCH warmer than Canada!
