Information Housekeeping

June 25, 2026

Keeping your information up to date with ATRF—like your contact details, pension partner, and beneficiaries—may not be the most exciting task on your to-do list, but it’s an easy and essential part of receiving important pension information in a timely manner.

ATRF sends members time-sensitive and important pension communications throughout the year. If your mailing address or email address is out of date, you may miss information that affects your pension planning or requires your attention.

Each year, ATRF receives a significant volume of returned mail due to outdated addresses, resulting in unnecessary costs to the plans. You can help prevent this by regularly reviewing your personal information and updating it whenever something changes. You may also want to consider going paperless to receive information faster.

Members are also encouraged to use a personal email address rather than a work email address. Access to work email accounts can sometimes be interrupted due to job changes, retirement, leaves of absence, or other circumstances, which may prevent you from receiving important ATRF updates.

Actions You Can Take

1. Review your contact information

Make sure your mailing address and email address are current. Add a personal email address if you haven’t done so already. You can make these updates in  MyPension.

2. Review your pension partner and beneficiary information regularly

It’s important to keep your pension partner and beneficiary information up to date. This helps ensure your pension is distributed in accordance with your current wishes and circumstances if you die before retirement.

Life events, such as marriage, separation, or divorce, may affect your pension partner designation, and the birth or adoption of a child, or the death of a loved one, can affect who you choose to designate as a beneficiary. Log in to MyPension to review this information and make updates as necessary.

A little information housekeeping today can help ensure you receive important ATRF updates and that your pension information reflects your wishes when it matters most.
