We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated, people-focused professional to join our Pension Services team as Pension Specialist, Member Services in our office in Edmonton. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in helping others understand complex information and enjoys work that is both meaningful and detail focused.

This position reports to the Team Lead, Member Services and engages daily with active, inactive and retired plan members, or their representatives. The main responsibilities of the role include confirming member eligibility, calculating and verifying benefits, adjusting, suspending or terminating pensions, as well as updating member personal information such as beneficiaries and bank changes.

We are looking for a dedicated, high performing professional with exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills. Building strong relationships and working collaboratively across the organization is essential to ensuring our plan members, beneficiaries, and partners feel supported and well served. As we value in-person collaboration, the successful candidate must be available to work onsite on a regular basis.

Qualifications, Experience, and Capabilities

• Diploma in business or benefits, plus at least two years of experience in pension administration.
• Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) or Pension Plan Administration Certificate (PPAC) designation or equivalent would be an asset.
• Demonstrated interest in working directly with members and employers in a professional and highly regulated industry.
• Self-motivated with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask.
• Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a team environment with minimal supervision.
• Strong customer service and verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual in both French and English considered is an asset.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a strong aptitude for math.
• The ability to identify inefficiencies with processes and recommend improvements.
