ATRF has a unique opportunity for a forward-thinking, tech-savvy IT professional to join our Information & Technology Services (ITS) team as Senior Application Developer.
ATRF has embarked on a multi-year project to modernize our processes, services, and technology in order to continuously deliver exceptional service to our clients. This extensive initiative includes modernizing ATRF’s employer and member portal systems and implementing a pension administration system. The Senior Application Developer will play a pivotal role as a strategic contributor to these projects.
Reporting to the Director, Application Development, this position provides strategic business value through comprehensive expertise in application development, quality assurance, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of web and application solutions that align with ATRF’s organizational goals. This position proactively collaborates with the business, members of the ITS team, and external contacts, playing a key role in building and developing innovative and scalable solutions.
As a trusted technical resource, the Senior Application Developer applies expert knowledge to both project-based initiatives and day-to-day operational support, driving continuous improvement and optimization of applications. Additionally, this position provides mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering a culture of growth and collaboration.
We are looking for a high-achieving IT professional with significant experience developing features, experiences, and performance optimizations for external applications across mobile and desktop applications. Exceptional communication, both written and verbal, along with interpersonal aptitude are imperative in order to articulate complex concepts to non-technical audiences.

Qualifications, Experience and Capabilities
- University degree in computing science, information systems, engineering, or related field. Other combinations of education and extensive application development experience may be considered.
- Minimum five years of experience in full-stack application development using C#, .NET Core, HTML, CSS, modern JavaScript Frameworks (React, Vue, Angular), TypeScript, and Visual Studio Development Tools
- Certifications/Training in the following areas is preferred:
- Microsoft Certifications
- Professional Software Developer – IEEE
- Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
- Agile/Scrum
- Experience in the development and interaction with REST API’s and web services across multiple systems
- Proficiency in building Microsoft SharePoint Framework solutions along with familiarity in extensibility options in Microsoft 365 is desirable
- Ability to test, debug, and troubleshoot applications from end to end
- Expertise in designing and interfacing with relational and non-relational databases
- Extensive working experience in agile methodologies and practices
- Practical experience with Azure DevOps and other cloud-based technologies
- Experience developing additional web platforms such as WordPress is desirable
- Technically savvy, detail oriented, task-focused and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously
